In the fall of 2017, Southeast Resource Development Council (SERDC) Corp. Health Services received funding to host a Mental Wellness Team as part of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak’s (MKO) Mental Wellness Coordination Initiative. SERDC’s team consists of 3 professionals of diverse expertise to provide mental wellness care to our member communities.

Services provided by the team include:

  1. Mental wellness education, promotion, prevention, while integrating Indigenous language and culture;
  2. Outreach and case management services (early identification and intervention, assessments, coordination of care/care planning, referral services, life skills coaching, and support/aftercare); and
  3. Advocacy and outreach in mental health policy (such as system integration, increased funding for services, new resources and tools, etc.).
